PL Areas of application for our products
The following labelling helps you to identify which product is suitable for which area of application. We differentiate between three areas: indoor use, outdoor use and heavy-duty use on construction sites. Items that are suitable for heavy-duty use on construction sites can automatically be used both indoors and outdoors. The colour-coded guidance system shows you exactly which product is suitable for which area of application. This means you always know, for example, which cable reel is best used where and there are no nasty surprises.

For use on commercial construction sites

In addition to tightness against foreign bodies larger than 1 mm and protection against splash water, further special requirements are placed on the materials used. On construction sites, the products used must be particularly resistant to impact and breakage. In addition, according to DGUV Information 203-006 / BGI 608, only electrical cables with the qualities "H07RN-F" or "H07BQ-F" are permitted. Up to a cable length of 5 m (e.g. for lights), "H05RN-F" or "H05BQ-F" is also permitted.

For outdoor use
IP44 outdoor area: In outdoor areas, it is recommended to use protection class IP44 or higher. The first digit "4" means that the product is protected against the ingress of solid foreign bodies larger than 1 mm. The second digit "4" indicates that the product is sufficiently sealed and therefore protected against splashing water on all sides. Products with protection class IP44 for outdoor use are generally of the same quality as those for use on construction sites. However, the relevant standards and guidelines apply for use on construction sites, which not all products with protection rating "IP44 outdoor" fulfil.
For indoor use
IP20 indoor area: The IP20 protection rating means that the product No protection against water ingress owns, but against solid objects of more than 12.5 mm in diameter. Such a product should therefore only be installed in absolutely dry places, for example in dry rooms in the interior.
For outdoor use
Some products have been specially configured for the garden sector. Be it the red cable on an extension cable for the lawn mower or a special water hose reel for watering the garden. You can recognise these products by our green garden symbol. Of course, you can also use all our outdoor and construction site products in your garden.
