If you want to spend your camping holiday without any nasty surprises, check your equipment for completeness and functionality before you leave. The mobile power supply equipment should not be neglected. Generally applicable guidelines for power supply on campsites and in motorhomes must be observed. According to DIN standard VDE 0100-721, so-called heavy rubber hose cables with the cable designation H07RN-F<\/strong> or higher with a cable cross-section of 2.5 mm\u00b2<\/strong> (3G2.5) are required. In addition, the maximum length of 25 m<\/strong> cable plus <\/strong>1.5 m adapter cable<\/strong> must not be exceeded.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

These requirements are part of all camping site regulations<\/strong>. In the event of non-compliance, you may be asked by the campsite owner to rent an expensive cable<\/strong> on site or to buy one<\/strong>, usually at an inflated price. If you refuse this offer from the campsite operator, you may be denied access to shore power<\/strong>. If you nevertheless gain unauthorised access to shore power, you are liable to prosecution, which usually results in an expulsion from the site<\/strong>.<\/p>

Compliance with the guidelines described above is particularly important for insurance reasons. For example, cable cross-sections that are too small can lead to a fire if the current load is too high. If damage occurs to your motorhome or campsite due to unauthorised cables<\/strong>, the insurance cover will lapse<\/strong> and you will be liable for the damage and the costs yourself.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In terms of safety<\/strong> when handling electricity, it is also advisable to use electrical products with a cable length of no less than<\/strong> 1.5 m<\/strong>. This cable length makes it possible, for example, to connect extension cables to a higher wall socket or feed socket and to lay the cable with the coupling on the floor<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The advantage is that once a consumer has been connected, there is no tensile load on the connection between the plug and coupling. In addition, there is no strain on the supply plug. Tension on these two connections should always be avoided, as loose contact connections <\/strong>in the worst case scenario<\/strong> can cause socket fires<\/strong>. Short circuits<\/strong> can also cause damage to the connected devices<\/strong>.
